This week we managed one four player game.
Sam Asambonsam Ghoul > Stevan group 3 vote > Graham 419 Spam > Paul Obeah steal/bleed
Quite a brutal game, with Stevan suffering an early beating as Lucinde, Alastor got sent to torpor on one blood. This meant that he was always on the backfoot and struggling to keep going. Graham bought out numerous Osebo weenies which combined with 419 put pressure on Paul. Paul bought out Matthias but his blocking was hampered by Grahams Thrown Gate attacks. I bought out a number of Tzimisce who powered up and got the Ghouls up for defence. This allowed me to push forward, although some cross table rescues slowed me down. Graham also pushed forward, with the 419s taking their toll all be it slowly. Paul kept going as best as he could, getting some steals in and sliding in couple of big bleeds which I couldn’t always bounce forward as Stevan played Two Wrongs. Graham got the oust by overstocking his 419s, which meant that when I bled Stevan and burnt the Edge I got the pool lost by Paul. I then got the second oust and it was a straight fight. Graham pulled out the 419s, but I started smashing and burning vampires putting all of Grahams vampires in torpor. He then conceeded me the game with 20 minutes to go.

No changes of position, although I have closed the gap on Geoff.
Next week
Hopefully we will get some more players next week, although we are not going to see either Kieran or Richard. Perhaps Andy and Geoff will be available to boost the numbers? The other option for the second game is to try the Rapid Thought variant - embrace the three player game!

Updated report from last Wednesday
We had 2 games. A 5 player and then a 4 player. First game was:
Sam (Howler and friend)-> Steve (Nos vote)-> Rich(Imbued) -> Geoff (Tremere)-> Graham (419 Operation)
I spent a little time burning the edge to get rid of the 419s - typical spam operation, took up space but very little else. I also suffered with some big POT strikes, with most of my minions ending up in torpor. The Imbued built up, and then got pushed down, then built up and then got pushed down. Geoff was struggling with them, but did manage to get as near to an oust as possible - the timer went just as Graham was about to lose his last pool to a bounced oust.
Table timed out.
Draw 0.5vps each
Second Game:
Rich (!Brujah Vote)-> Steve (ani for)-> Geoff (Malk Bleed)-> Graham (419 Operation)
Graham reporting this
Looked like a short game for Rich but hung in there until the last 30 minutes. The 419s ousted Steve!!!! yeah dirty scammers.
Geoff bleed me out, grrr.
Draw, Graham 2vp, Geoff 2vps, Richard 0vps, Stevan 0vps.

Five of us gathered to gain the Imperator title for our clan, each keen to secure the power that it held.
Game 1
Graham Malk Anarch Barons > Sam 4/5 Tremere > Paul 4/5 Brujah > Stevan 4/5 Toreador > Kieran Malk Weenies with high cap support
A long game with people building up slowly. The Imperator deck helped and hindered in equal measure, with the extra discards being used to cycle some of the more painful cards away. Graham went Anarch with his Malks, who then slowly built up votes. I bought out Gabrielle di Righetti, along with Dr John Dee and Zane for a total of six votes. Paul managed to get himself three votes, along with a number of Boons which gave him additional votes. Stevan had a number of primogen for some voting power, while Kierans power rested on Lutz von Hohenzollerns shoulders. This meant that any vote required much talking to get anywhere. I probed forward although my combat was weak against the big strikes Paul could muster - especially as my hand normally consisted of Deflections and Governs. Paul defended, while Stevan built up a little and sent some bleeds forward. Kieran managed to build up a number of minions which kept the pressure up - along with Lutz special kicking off on each successful vote. Graham fell, and I fell soon after. Paul was on the ropes as time was called.
Win
Kieran 2.5vps GW, Paul 0.5vps, Stevan 0.5vps, Graham 0vps, Sam 0vps.
Game 2
Stevan 4/5 Toreador > Paul 4/5 Brujah > Kieran Malk Weenies with high cap support > Graham Malk Anarch Barons
Slow build up (but not as slow as the first game) . Lots of Boons were played again. Steven got Paul down to 4 pool. Paul got Kieran down to 2 pool. In one turn I ousted Steven with 2 bleeds of one. Then Petra Baron of Boston called a Reckless Agitation to oust Paul and Kieran at the same time. Giving 1 VP to Paul and 3 to me.
Lots of vote negation required at the start of the game again.
Win
Graham 3vp GW, Paul 1vp, Steven 0vp, Kieran 0vp
Results
Graham 3vps GW
Kieran 2.5vps GW
Paul 1.5vps
Stevan 0.5vps
Sam 0vps
So a good result for Graham - don’t think it is worth trying to get another game played to add to the results. Just need a little information to complete the below list and I will be ready to post it up.
• Date of event - 06/06/09
• Location of event - Princes House
• # of players - 5
• Winning Player - Graham Smith
• Winning Clan - Malkavian
• Key Minion -
• Imperator Nominee -

Four players again, this time with a change of faces.
Game One
Andy Euro Brujah > Graham 4/5 Brujah > Paul Cybele/Great Beast > Sam New Ventrue
The tournament decks were out again, this time with a whole lot of votes and Princes. The votes rapidly built up, leaving Paul in the cold - no votes. This combined with Villeins caused him some trouble with his deck. Graham was also at the end of a bounce chain, so he had a few problems with that. Andy bought up Constanza, Yuri and Rake who contested with my Victor Donaldson - whose special was very useful as I cycled Golcondas around. With Graham and myself having the most votes Andy and Paul suffered, with Andy being the first ousted. Paul put up valiant defence, but the Great Beast can only do so much and he was also ousted as Graham got New Carthage. The votes changes of New Carthage meant that I couldn’t strike though to get the oust - two Daring the Dawn in hand, and Graham got the final oust and Game Win.
Win
Graham 3vps GW, Sam 1vp, Andy 0vp, Paul 0vp.
Current Standings
Graham 7 GWs 3 Draws 32.5 vps 23 Total Games 0.30
Paul 5 GWs 3 Draws 23.0 vps 22 Total Games 0.23
Geoff 3 GWs 3 Draws 14.5 vps 15 Total Games 0.20

Mark 0 GWs 0 Draws 0.0 vps 2 Total Games 0.00
Richard 0 GWs 0 Draws 0.0 vps 1 Total Games 0.00
Total: 25 Games (21 GW, 4 Draws 84%)
Graham stretches his lead, now with a large VP buffer, while I pick up another VP lower in the table.
ECQ
Graham and Paul are going up to Burton on Trent on Saturday to play in the 2009 ECQ. So good luck to them, Grahams deck seems to be working well so long as he doesn’t contest with anyone else…
Next Week
We should have a good number of players next week, as Andy, Geoff, Kieran and friends should all be around. This means we could have up to eight players (nine if Stevan is around), so here is hoping. Kieran should also be bringing down the various tournament packs he has ordered for me, so will have to start preparing.
June 6th
How is Saturday 6th of June for people wanting to play in the Storyline Tournament? It will be a 2 rounds and final/3 rounds no final event depending on numbers. I would hope to start early and thus finish early. Who is around?
JOL
Is there any interest in playing some more Bath only JOL games? The ping system is now working again, which makes games play a lot quicker so it could be a good time to think about a game.

Four players gathered at Grahams for one game of League Action
Game One
Graham 4/5 Brujah > Stevan ANI Wall > Paul Anarch Assamites > Sam New Ventrue
A quick and brutal game, as the votes swung back and forth. I struggled with pool gain, as the crypt failed to allow any Govern down and I saw none of the six Villiens in the deck. I did put lots of pressure on Graham, and he also struggled with pool gain. Stevan built up his resources, but seemed to be lacking untap to block - indeed his last failed block killed him as WRMH Radio’s cost finished him at the end of the action. Paul built up his minions, and started applying the Reckless Agitation, which quickly finished me. Graham struggled on a little longer, but the Consanguineous Boons gave Paul a big lead which was too much for Graham.
Win

Paul claws some back against Graham, but he is still on top of the table.
It seems unlikely that there will be a game next week, as Geoff and Stevan are both busy. That leaves Graham, Paul and myself, which is not enough for a Vtes meet. So plan for the 20th of May, when hopefully Geoff and Kieran will be available. There is also a slim chance that Stevan will be back (10 days in Florida for him first). Still no sign of Andy - haven’t seen him this side of Wes’ birth!

I really need to fix a date for the Storyline Tournament. I did ask people to say if Wednesday or Saturdays are better for them, so far its a tie (damn you people!), but Kieran, Richard and Stevan haven’t submitted answers. So please give them now.
Also as mentioned in another email, we could do with finding a cheap location for Vtes tournaments - so that I could run a number of them this year. Would your office be any good Graham? Or do you not want sweaty blokes cluttering it up on a Saturday?

Four players gathered at Grahams for two games of League Action.
Game One
Paul Tzimisce Combat > Geoff (!)Tremere Combat/Bleed > Stevan Assamite Combat/Bleed > Graham Tzimisce Combat/Bleed
Crypt overlap between Tzimisce hurt Paul, early combat went Paul’s way until Meshenka got binned and eaten, Geoff had little pressure until a massive battle bewteen Dragos and Carna, Stevan powered heavy bleeds into Graham and proved efficient at setting range and spitting fiery death, Geoff dropped some big bleeds on Stevan. Graham ousted Paul and then proved surprisingly efficient at beating the Tremere up, Stevan back rescued Geoff’s last minion in an effort to protect himself from Graham’s onslaught (and perhaps prevent Graham’s game win), but Graham pushed through Geoff in the last fifteen minutes and eventually managed to wear down Stevan’s minions until there was only a resilient Web of Knives remaining. Graham ousted Stevan with only 3 or 4 minutes remaining and 3 or 4 cards in his deck.
Graham 4 vps GW
Game Two
Paul Immortal Garou > Steven Ravnos Rats & Gear > Graham Tenacious Assamites > Geoff Kindred Spirits Bleed
Geoff’s minions got torn apart by Garou then Assamites, Steven’s minions got beaten up a bit by Assamites then Garou. Stevan tooled up with loads of stuff. Geoff got ousted. The Assamites and Gaoru fought quite bit, with the Assamites coming off worse. Graham got ousted (specifically by Dragonbound). The Ravnos and the Garou fought some more but they were unable to kill Stevan’s last minion: Kiradin with Wolf Companion, Raven Spy and a big stick. It was close, but Mathias got binned and the writing seemed to be on the wall and Paul conceded.
Stevan 3 vps GW, Graham 1vp.

Next week
Hopefully I will be able to make it, my Dad is home and has been enjoying home cooked food and baths. I believe that Paul isn’t certain for next week, we will have to see.
I am still waiting on a number of you to vote on the June Storyline Event. I need to know if
Option 1 - two Wednesday Nights or
Option 2 - one Saturday Day
Is best for you.

Only four players this week, and only time for one game.
Game 1
Stevan Assamite Loss > Sam !Nos Black Hand > Paul Tzi Ghoul > Graham 4/5 Brujah
Stevan started out strongly, getting some small minions bleeding me. Meanwhile Paul took advange of the lack of blockers to bring out a Warghoul, which threatened to squash people but mostly spent its time tapped with On the Qui Vie headaches. Graham managed to bring up Dmitra quickly followed by New Carthage. This gave him vote lock, which allowed him to hit into Stevans pool. Stevan went forward as best he could to get the oust, but it wasn’t enough and he was ousted. I followed soon after lacking untaps for the minions I had managed to bring out (Tarbaby and Nails). Paul tried to slow Graham, knocking him down with bleeds, but Graham was rolling by now with two other minions - Tara and Karen Suadela, all of which called votes and bled into Paul.

Graham claims the top of the table, with no other moves this week.
Hopefully we will get enough players for next week, as Stevan is unlikely to be available. I would still only be available for one game (unlikely to change for quite some time as we are doing two formula feeds, 6pm and 10pm). If Andy and Geoff can make it, and we can work a way to get Paul home then we should be good to go.
Thinking on the player numbers we probably need to find a couple more as our numbers have dipped since Nick moved back to Greece. Not sure how we will manage that, but something to think about.
Further planning - Graham was talking about the ECQ which is on 16th of May in Burton on Trent. Is anyone keen to go?
Finally I probably won’t be able to see this post, as they seem to be being eaten by Hotmail (mine and Stevans for sure, maybe Kierans?). So don’t expect me to respond.

Six players gathered at Grahams for two rounds of League action. However with delays for Geoff, and my commitments at home there were only five players in each game.
Game 1
Graham Ravnos Tap/Bleed > Sam 4/5 Tremere Bleed > Paul Anarch Hordes > Stevan Ravnos Toolbox > Steve 4/5 Brujah Vote/Bleed
Everyone built up steadily, although Graham got an early bleed in which gave him the Edge for a number of turns. Paul bought out a Shambling Horde, but it cost Isabel dearly with her hunt the following turn leaving her in torpor. Stevan bought out a Legion of Rats, which nibbled away at Steves pool. Steve went back and slowly exterminated the Rats before he lost too much pool. Graham tooled up with Fatuus Mastery and Camera Phone. I bought out a couple of big caps which allowed me to Govern down to increase my minions. Paul struggled on, with Le Dinh Tho holding fort as his Hordes got beaten down. Stevan probed forward, but didn’t manage much damage. Steve tried numerous votes, but Graham seemed to have a Delaying Tactics for each one. Graham bled me some more, although I bounced a few on to Paul. Paul was suffering with few minions, and a Revelations revealing his hand. I pushed forward and got the oust just as Graham had battered me down. Steve tried again to get some damage through on Graham, putting the spare damage on Stevan as I had potentially six votes. This left Stevan in a precarious position, and his hand was now revealed with the Revelations. Time was ticking down however as each player took their turn. Grahams big push with Week of Nightmares was cancelled by my Wash, taking the wind from his sails. This left me with just enough time to get the two Govern bleeds into Stevan before the timer rang.
Win
Sam 2.5vps GW, Graham 0.5vps, Steve 0.5vps, Paul 0vps, Stevan 0vps.
Game 2
Paul Spirit Marionette > Stevan Loss Assamites > Graham Mummy allies > Geoff Malk Dem/Obf > Steve Brujah 4/5
Everyone initially built up reasonably well, except perhaps Steve and Stevan who took a couple of biggish bleeds early and had their number of minions restricted somewhat. Then Graham got a couple of rushing Mummies into play, Geoff’s minions started to hit torpor with regularity, depriving Steve of pressure and allowing him to build up a little. Stevan moved forwards with some Loss bleeds, some bounced by Graham, and multiple Spying Missions. Paul had trouble stealing minions and, while having good defence (with bounce, combat ends and anti-political stuff), he needed forward momentum. Eventually he took some unnecessary risks in order to draw into cards and lost minions to Stevan’s fiery taste of death. Everything then ground down horribly, until Paul was ousted first, then Geoff, then Stevan. In the end game, Steve took some heavy(ish) bleeds and threw vote damage forwards, but the time out came in a battle that could possibly have gone either way (although Steve was starting to get the politics and bloat working).
Steve 2.5 vps GW, Graham 1.5 vps, Geoff 0vps, Paul 0vps, Stevan 0vps.

Steve makes a push for the top, while Paul keeps hold of the top position by 0.5vps. Steve is now away until July, so he won’t be able to improve his standings until then. Hopefully next week will see the return of Andy, who hasn’t been seen for a good few weeks.

Five players this time, with the return of Steve from Iraq although we were missing Andy and Geoff both tied up with work commitments.
Game 1
Steve New Brujah > Stevan Assamite Bleed Bash > Paul Triple A Toreador > Graham Modified Malk Starter > Sam Torrential Assamite
This started off quickly with large cap vampires being pulled out. Steve got Dmitra, Stevan got Thucimia, Paul got Anson while Graham bought out Lutz. I dragged up Parnassus who started to gear up with Retain the Quick Blood. Steve stablised his postion with the Rumour Mill, giving him up to three intercept. Stevan pushed forward with Loss, although they mostly got bounced to Graham. Paul tried a few Parity Shifts, the first from Graham but the second had to come from Steve as he was the only legal target. To keep Steves votes the blood went back to him… However Stevan and myself were suffering under Camarilla Judgement, with Famous Isabel de Leon causing more problems and Lutz’s special. Paul managed a surge forward, which took out Graham followed by myself. Steve then took out Stevan the same turn, leaving the table in ruins. By this time Paul had twenty two pool, Alexandra, Anson and Francois Villon, while Steve had eight pool and Dmitra, Karen Suadela, Tara and Reginald Moore. The votes were tied! However Steve had the greater number of minions, with some sneaky untap as well. This allowed him to carve away at Pauls pool, taking the game with ten minutes to spare.
Win
Steve 3vps GW, Paul 2vps, Graham 0vps, Sam 0vps, Stevan 0vps.
The meet then finished, as people had to get back.
