BloodBATH 2007: Fifth Tradition – Mini Qualifier.

This tournament was a great success, as we got seventeen players (five more than the previous Bath best turnout), who all turned up early and played without much need for a Judge. I managed to get everyone seating in various rooms of my house – so thanks to the wife for vacating the area, I love her muchly. Anyway on with the report, everyone seemed keen and the various prizes kept people interested.
We played three rounds, and then the final, which ended up with the same standings as before they started, even with the extra vps earnt. There was surprisingly little contestation, excepting Hugh and Frank in the third round, but even that ended up with points for Hugh.
So here are the results:
Paul Reid Bowen, winner, with Nephandi Deck. Took home 5 boosters, a Trophy: Progeny print (for 10 minions controlled) and Echo print. Decklist in deck section.
Phil Thompson, second, with !Malk Lunatic Allies deck. Took 4 boosters, and won the qualifying spot.
Graham Smith, third, with Tremere Gargoyle Bleed. Won 3 boosters.
Hugh Angseesing, fourth, with Nergal Bleed. Won 2 boosters and True Loves Face print (for bleed of 7).
All other places got 1 booster.
Giorgio Brusamonti, fifth, with Undue Influence Weenie PRE.
Andy Bennett, sixth, Group 1-2 Brujah Princes.
Sven Helmer, seventh, Group 1-2 Ventrue Princes.
Keiran Carder, eighth, Imbued. Wins the highest ranked new player.
Richard Pilot, ninth, Necro Bleed.
Emiliano Imeroni, tenth, !Nos 3-4 Vote.
Jon Shonk, eleventh, !Malk Kindred Bleed.
Steve Read, twelfth, !Malk Kindred Bleed.
Mat Cook, thirteenth, Jaroslav Archon.
Rob Thompson, fourteenth, Necro Zombies.
Mike Wilson, fifteenth, Trujah SER POT. Won Mistrust print after a coin toss with Rob Thompson – both played 3 scarce minions across 3 games, although Mikes scarce minion was a lynchpin rather than a lucky draw.
Carlos Hoyos, sixteenth, 3-4 Mata Hari Breed.
Frank Connell, seventeenth, Nergal Bleed. Wins the Barny Baker award for drinking three cans of Guiness and a bottle of Port during three rounds of play.

Everyone also took away 13 promos each, adding into Paul’s ‘13’ winning theory. I will try to reimburse people who supplied more Fifth Traditions than they won – Graham, Hugh and myself. No one won (or even played a werewolf) the Werewolf Mask so that will rollover to the next Bath Event. Hopefully Bath has gained a player as Keiran said he would travel down once a month from Cheltenham to play. Go Team Bath (now with eight regulars).
