Another league meet, and another session with six players, although this time we swapped Paul and Stevan for Kieran and Steve.

Game 1

With a couple of fresh faces at the table no one quite knew what to expect, so there was a slow build up. Indeed, Graham spread his influence so that in the third turn he popped out three vampires rather than any sooner. Steve started dishing out the pain, rushing Ugadja down to one blood, and then torporing and eating Hektor – a common past time for him in recent games. This meant that Richard struggled to put much pressure on Kieran, who with multiple Thefts trumped Andys combat, with all of his Assamites spending some time in Torpor. Fortunately with a six player table you have lots of cross table buddies – right? Anyway the Assamites were rescued, to slow Kieran up. The Ravnos bred, and started with The Eldest are Kholo votes, with KRCs and Con Boon. However the spread of votes prevented much success. There were various cards causing problems – Tension in the Ranks, and Dragonbound.
Kieran cranked up the pressure, and ousted Andy, with Graham next in his sights. Graham had taken some damage from the Dragonbound, but that went when Andy did, however it was not enough and Graham fell too. Meanwhile Steve had put Richard out, after torporing all of his minions. I had managed to build back up, and was applying the pressure to Steve – who was down to one pool, when time was called.

Game 2

More rush combat for Steve, this time smacking down Lazverinus, and the first five Mexican Sisters. After that I stopped influencing out any more, as they would have all suffered the same fate. However Steve still smacked about various vampires, and eventually some Imbued. Andy and I struggled to do very much, me because I had no minions, and annoying discards because of Richards Port Authority, and Andy because he was either being rushed, or bleed for lots. However we helped each other out, with cross table Sudden Reversals and Life in the Citys. Kieran built up his numbers, but lacked the stealth for any major actions, as the Imbued had been given an easy ride at the being with no one blocking their Powers… Indeed, Graham surged forward, ousting Richard and Andy in quick succession. Steve gave him pause for thought, but he didn’t have the intercept to prevent Graham and his NRA PAC tricks, and was ousted as well, just before time.

So a good showing for the new recruit from Cheltenham. Hopefully we will see Kieran with some regularity, although it is quite a trip down. Next week we will be back to playing on Wednesday, and we could have up to seven players – will have to see what happens.
