Another week, another league session. This time we were back up to six players.

Game 1
Stevan !Malk Bleed > Sam Nehemiah card cycle > Graham Tzimisce Bleed > Andy Anarch Ravnos Steal> Paul Cybele Beast > Kieran Petaniqua and Friends

Some very unusual decks at the table meant that the first part of the game was mostly slow build up, apart from Kostantin being burnt by a seven times Horrid Form Meshenka. This gave Andy very little room to maneuvre, and thus we didn’t really see how his deck performed as Graham bled him out. Paul did various Soul Gem tricks, glad that Kostantin was gone, although the Great Beast never appeared. Kieran bought out Ossian, Black Spiral Buddy, Procurer and Mylan, although his defences were a little weak. However not many people can survive against repeated stealth bleed, and neither did he, as Paul ousted him. Stevan got some early bleeds in against me, so I had to defend a lot, cycling through cards. With a little more experience Stevan would have gotten the oust, with more surging forward from the !Malks. Nehemiah did his thing again, and this time even threatened to oust someone, although the time out prevented it this time.

Unfortunately Stevan had to leave after the first game, as he had trip to London for work the following day. So it was a five player game next.

More of the same from most people, although I bought out the Anarchs, and Paul the CEL THA Smiling Jack wall that Emiliano had done so well with a couple of weeks back. This time Andy didn’t lose any minions, and Graham was more selective with his Horrid Form use – normally only using one or two as required. I struggled with going Anarch, and was quickly overrun. Kieran also struggled, and Petaniqua with a lack of friends was also soon ousted. It was down to three players, and looked like Graham would sweep. However Paul put up stiff resistance with the Sniper Rifles, which gave Andy the room to oust Graham, but again the Sniper Rifles proved their worth and Andy was also soon ousted.

Next meet will be Wednesday 19th September, 7pm, 18 QC Gardens. Will only be four of us, as Graham is off to Italy for a holiday. Hopefully we should get Grahams order of Lords of the Night cards some time after the weekend of 29th/30th September. Before then Nick will have moved to Bath, so we should have an extra player, and we will need to work out transport to Reading for the National Cup on 6th October. Last year it was an enjoyable event, with 40+ players.
