2007 League Meet 19

<  2007 League Meet 19

Only four players this week, but still good games.

Game 1

Sam Ahrimanes 2007 > Andy Saulot > Paul CEL THA wall > Stevan !Brujah

A slow build up, while players worked out what everyone else was playing. Andy was stymied by the intercept from Paul and myself, and Howler battering Saulot into torpor. He went forward with his weenie assault, but my Ossian tore holes in his defence. Paul bought out locations, and a powerful selection of vampires, with Lucas Halton, Anastasz di Zagreb and Aisling Sturbridge with Drum of Zipe Totec. However he concentrated on bloating and defence, which allowed Stevan to build up. He bought out five !Brujah, but a lot of his forward pressure was negated by Howlers untap and permanent maneuvre. Smiling Jack made an appearance later in the game, combined with Fame on Stevans minion from Paul. This meant that the table crumbled, with both Andy and Stevan going out before we timed out.

Draw
Paul 1.5vps, Sam 1.5vps, Andy 0vps, Stevan 0vps.

Game 2

Stevan Ahrimanes 2007 > Andy Matata Beats > Sam Nosferatu Burn > Paul Renegade Garou Assault

A very strange game, Stevan played Smiling Jack on the first turn, which was Washed by Paul. I played Tension in the Ranks in my first turn, and then Chandler Hungerford (controlled by Paul) found himself Famous, just before he found a Secure Haven. I tried to put some Judgement: Camarilla Segregation into play, but got blocked. I did manage to play an Army of Rats, and defend that, while I also put Chandler into Torpor. Stevan managed to get Howler, The Siamese and Cynthia Ingold into play, and had stolen Ossian from Paul with an Entrancement. However Ossian ran into Matata who flattened him. Matata built up, with two Duma Rafiki, meaning with Carrion Crows and Invoking the Beast, he was doing 3 hand damage, with 2 Crows, and 2x 1 Duma damage each round, with 2 presses. It was not nice. Indeed all of my minions ended up in Torpor, with the Tension proving very painful. There had also been a contested Fame between Andy and Stevan – after the first one had gone off when Chandler Hunted and got blocked. Andy had played one on one of my minions to save the damage.
I was getting near to being ousted, as I couldn’t defend, so Andy went on to attack Paul. He binned the first two minions, with Tension going off, I goaded Andy into taking out the last one in the same turn as I had spotted something that would give me a chance of VPs. Andy finished off the last of Pauls minions, and was on one Pool, as was I with Fame now back in play. I untapped, and then ordered my Untap Phase. I used the Army of Rats first, which ousted Paul, gaining me 6 Pool and a VP. I could then pay for the Fame, and survive a turn. Stevan pushed forward, against Andy who had tapped out assuming he was going to get my 6 Pool. This meant that he couldn’t defend, and Stevan got the Oust, while in my turn I conceeded, as I had no ready minions, and less Pool than Stevan. A win for Stevan, and the Ahrimanes.

Win
Stevan 3vps GW, Sam 1vp, Andy 0vps, Paul 0vps.

Current Standings.
Sam 7 GWs 8 Draws 32.5 vps 32 Total Games 0.22

Graham 5 GWs 6 Draws 32.0 vps 28 Total Games 0.18

Andy 5 GWs 3 Draws 30.0 vps 36 Total Games 0.14

Paul 4 GWs 8 Draws 26.0 vps 32 Total Games 0.13

Richard 2 GWs 3 Draws 7.5 vps 20 Total Games 0.10

Stevan 1 GWs 1 Draws 7.0 vps 8 Total Games 0.13

Kieran 1 GWs 3 Draws 6.0 vps 6 Total Games 0.16

Emiliano 1 GWs 0 Draws 3.0 vps 2 Total Games 0.50

Steve 0 GWs 4 Draws 4.0 vps 8 Total Games 0.00

TOTAL: 37 Games (27 GW, 10 Draw)

So Stevan has leapfrogged up the table, and is nipping at Richards heels! All good, especially as those 8 games total nearly represent all of Stevans Vtes games played.

Next week is the usual plan, Wednesday, 7pm, 18 QC Gardens. Not sure how many players we will have, Graham will be back, Nick will be in the country, although Stevan might be away.
