The last League meet of 2007, and being number 26 means we have averaged a Meet every two weeks. Pretty good going, with two Dual Forms and a number of non Vtes nights as well.
Anyway this meet saw the return of Richard, meaning we had six players for both games.

Game 1

Paul had a poor start, having to draw more uncontrolled vampires, and then struggling with Matata and Fame. There was many ups and downs, although Andy was the first down as Wooden Stakes and Strike the True Flesh put Matata in torpor where he was rapidly eaten. Stevan had little pressure so could build up the FoS, whereas I had Nehemiah trying to multiact without multiacting cards… Richard got a few votes off, with Armin Bremner giving him pool each time. With various votes and Fame everyone seemed to end up on limited Pool and at various times it seemed that various players were destined for victory. Graham ousted Paul, while Stevan surged forward taking me and Richard in the same turn. The time was ticking down, with Stevan having the minions and blood, and Graham having the bleeds and untaps. However with the final seconds Stevan got four bleeds in and ousted Graham, thus getting the win.

Game 2

This time I started the pain with an early Camarilla Segregation, however my minions struggled against Pauls early Unmasking which paired up with the Nephandi to allow him to block most of my actions. Graham had little pressure from me, so could pile into Stevan who pulled out some surprises but couldn’t quite defend enough. Andy did his usual tricks of bloating, but ran out of uncontrolled vampires, and then played a Direct Intervention when he really needed a Golconda in his turn. I was bled out by the Mage Horde, while Graham moved through Andy and then put out Richards Ravnos. Down to two players, with Mages having the built in prevent and the Assamites having Sticks and additional strikes. However the attrition was too much for the Assamites, who struggled with Memories of Mortality (still currently legal) and Graham conceeded.

So Andy is the winner of the League in 2007, sadly there is no prize other than the other players throwing him down the stairs next time we play at 18QC Gardens. The results will start afresh in 2008, so it is all to play for – if people want a prize for that league then perhaps we should all chip in some cash at the start?
