2009 League Meet 10

<  2009 League Meet 10

Six players gathered at Grahams for two rounds of League action. However with delays for Geoff, and my commitments at home there were only five players in each game.
Game 1
Graham Ravnos Tap/Bleed > Sam 4/5 Tremere Bleed > Paul Anarch Hordes > Stevan Ravnos Toolbox > Steve 4/5 Brujah Vote/Bleed
Everyone built up steadily, although Graham got an early bleed in which gave him the Edge for a number of turns. Paul bought out a Shambling Horde, but it cost Isabel dearly with her hunt the following turn leaving her in torpor. Stevan bought out a Legion of Rats, which nibbled away at Steves pool. Steve went back and slowly exterminated the Rats before he lost too much pool. Graham tooled up with Fatuus Mastery and Camera Phone. I bought out a couple of big caps which allowed me to Govern down to increase my minions. Paul struggled on, with Le Dinh Tho holding fort as his Hordes got beaten down. Stevan probed forward, but didn’t manage much damage. Steve tried numerous votes, but Graham seemed to have a Delaying Tactics for each one. Graham bled me some more, although I bounced a few on to Paul. Paul was suffering with few minions, and a Revelations revealing his hand. I pushed forward and got the oust just as Graham had battered me down. Steve tried again to get some damage through on Graham, putting the spare damage on Stevan as I had potentially six votes. This left Stevan in a precarious position, and his hand was now revealed with the Revelations. Time was ticking down however as each player took their turn. Grahams big push with Week of Nightmares was cancelled by my Wash, taking the wind from his sails. This left me with just enough time to get the two Govern bleeds into Stevan before the timer rang.
Win
Sam 2.5vps GW, Graham 0.5vps, Steve 0.5vps, Paul 0vps, Stevan 0vps.
Game 2
Paul Spirit Marionette > Stevan Loss Assamites > Graham Mummy allies > Geoff Malk Dem/Obf > Steve Brujah 4/5
Everyone initially built up reasonably well, except perhaps Steve and Stevan who took a couple of biggish bleeds early and had their number of minions restricted somewhat. Then Graham got a couple of rushing Mummies into play, Geoff’s minions started to hit torpor with regularity, depriving Steve of pressure and allowing him to build up a little. Stevan moved forwards with some Loss bleeds, some bounced by Graham, and multiple Spying Missions. Paul had trouble stealing minions and, while having good defence (with bounce, combat ends and anti-political stuff), he needed forward momentum. Eventually he took some unnecessary risks in order to draw into cards and lost minions to Stevan’s fiery taste of death. Everything then ground down horribly, until Paul was ousted first, then Geoff, then Stevan. In the end game, Steve took some heavy(ish) bleeds and threw vote damage forwards, but the time out came in a battle that could possibly have gone either way (although Steve was starting to get the politics and bloat working).
Steve 2.5 vps GW, Graham 1.5 vps, Geoff 0vps, Paul 0vps, Stevan 0vps.

Steve makes a push for the top, while Paul keeps hold of the top position by 0.5vps. Steve is now away until July, so he won’t be able to improve his standings until then. Hopefully next week will see the return of Andy, who hasn’t been seen for a good few weeks.
